Drive in and drive through racking is designed for high density storage areas, which maximises the use of both cubic and floor space. Drive in pallet racking makes the most of the height available in your storage area, where many pallets are loaded in close proximity (reducing aisle and lane space). Drive in racking achieves this by placing the pallets on runners and having trucks physically enter the racking to deposit or retrieve loads.
The first pallet that goes into a lane will be the last out (FILO), so stock selectivity is restricted. For environments where loads are delivered and dispatched in bulk batches, this is not an issue. In fact, for non-date sensitive items, it’s ideal, offering huge increases in overall warehouse storage capacity.
Positioning pallets on front-to-back rails allows rows to be stacked next to each other safely and efficiently; crucial for items regarded as fragile or unstable.
Drive-in Pallet Racking enhances efficiency by reducing aisle loading and unloading times, yet allowing greater access compared to block-stacking.
